Family Trip

As always, July is a big month for the family. My birthday falls this month, as well as my brother's, my mum's, my father in law, and also some of my close friends and colleagues. All the very best for us. May we are bestowed with wisdom and ability to give thanks on all occasions.

Anyways, our little family enjoy the special month by having family trip to Padang-Bukittinggi. Just the three of us: me, gatot, and gaizka; for 5 days. Ahaha can you imagine the chaos of preparation (we even have to bring along his "Thomas" potty :p) and on the d-day itself. Not to mention the nightmare of having to feed the beloved prince, who'd just scream for noodles or even refuse anything into his mouth.

But all in all the trip went well. West Sumatra is a must-visit place!! Since our friends said that there's not much to see in Padang, we stayed in Bukittinggi instead. And my oh my...how we enjoy the city :) The weather's nice, the scenery's splendid, and the food's mouthwatering... We were also happy because our hotel's located in the heart of the city. So the places of attraction were simply in walking distance from our hotel.

To get around other places we rent a car. So we got the chance to go Payakumbuh, Batusangkar, and Maninjau Lake in Agam. Luckily Gaizka was pretty much cooperative. He would happily running around any available open space, climb whatever stairs, or sit on his stroller, good boy... But of course he's just like any other 20months year-old who'd get tired easily and could get all cranky. So, to enjoy it more we plan to return once Gaizka older...

Books: Just finished two interesting books: The Palace of Illussions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni and John Connolly's The Book of Lost Things. I like 'em both. But I fall for Divakaruni's work. Perhaps because it's on Mahabharata, which I basically love dearly, written in a refreshing way :) And oh I must write this: I got upset with Gatot few days back. And to make it up, he bought me 2 new books: Eragon and James Patterson's 8th Confession. Ayayayyy I am so thrilled!!!
